related to the

How we Became a Furniture Buying Group:
Alicia Valair, received a B.A. in Interior Design from Marymount University, a FIDER accredited university in 1997.  Upon graduation she was employed at
one of the top ten residential design firms in Tucson, Arizona.  She is currently an Allied Member of The American Society of Interior Designers and a
Nevada State Certified Interior Designer (CID) and Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD).
In 2007,  Alicia published a popular resource website and student
forum, Black Interior Designer Showcase (BIDS) , www.blackinteriordesigners.com.  BIDS is co-partnering educational seminars at the ASID Interiors '08
Conference in New Orleans, LA.

From her career experiences, Alicia acknowledged many consumers surely have hesitated, asking silently as they've purchased thousands of dollars of
furniture from retailers:
  Was this my only choice?  Was this my best choice?

An idea germinated into a detailed business plan and was based upon the reality that cultural diversity and accessibility was not fully reflected in her
profession.  
Despite years of television exposure, the "mysterious" process of how one can truly benefit from products purchased by an interior
designer remains vague.

Late in 2002, Alicia formed LIFESTYLE DESIGN INTERIORS, offering whole-house interior design and kitchen and bath design. She participated as one of
seven judges for the 2003 DESI AWARDS " a celebration of excellence and innovation in residential housing design, planning, construction and marketing
in Las Vegas."  Published in both
Kitchens by Professional Designers, Appliance Magazine and Homes of Color Magazine, she contributed to  Las
Vegas LIfe
magazine on home decor topics.  In 2003, Alicia also appeared on HGTV's Designer's Challenge and in 2004, was the Interior Design
program chairperson for The International Academy of Design & Technology.  During this time she became acutely aware of the global impact Las Vegas'
newest industry would have on the business of interior design.  

The World Market Center's location, its impressive list of major manufacturers, its partnering with European markets, and obvious positioning to become
